Inaugural Heart Hero Golf Classic
Our Inaugural Heart Hero Golf Classic was a huge success! Our 74 golfers enjoyed a beautiful golf course at Heritage Club and an absolutely perfect sunny 84 degree mid-October day!
The golf course spotlighted our generous hole sponsors, “Did You Know?” facts about CHD, and touching stories of some children and adults living with CHD.
Approximately 10 adult patients joined us for dinner and Kamren Colson and Adam Greber of KCD, Inc., Multidisciplined Creative Source, premiered a spectacular video they captured from the Adult Congenital Heart Disease Patient Camp that CHAoC sponsored this past August, which featured many of these inspiring patients.

Adult Congenital Heart Disease Camp
The Adult CHD Survivors of Cincinnati came to CHAoC seeking funding for a new patient camp they wanted to create geared toward adults with congenital heart disease. CHAoC said YES! This is a one day experience at Camp Joy that will include a variety of medically supervised activities and learning sessions. It is a chance for these patients to connect with others like them to play, learn and build friendships. If you are an adult CHD patient over the age of 18 and are interested in learning more about this camp or would like to register, click here.
Thank You for Supporting Party for the Hearty
Erica Pohlman, a senior at Seton High School, planned the fundraiser “Party for the Hearty” to benefit The Children’s Heart Association of Cincinnati, on February 14, 2016. She did this in honor of her friend, Meghan Hils, who has a terminal heart defect. Although the weather didn’t cooperate, Erica raised $2500 to help improve the outcome for children like Meghan. We are very appreciative for her hard work and dedication.

Meet Patricia Payne
On November 18th, CHAoC welcomed Patricia Payne to the Board. She shared how she has been personally touched by congenital heart disease and why she decided to get involved:
Why I joined CHAoC:
When I was a child, I sat on the sidelines during recess with my best friend, Kathy, who suffered from heart disease and was unable to play. She had surgery when she was 10 and did not survive. That was a long time ago and many advances have been made since then in the treatment of pediatric heart disease. So when my next door neighbor, a long time member of the CHAoC Board and the proud father of Zak, asked me to join CHAoC, I was happy to do so. Zak has congenital heart disease and I am delighted to say I have known him since he was born. He’s a super young man!
“We believe Patty will bring a great combination of experience and heart to our team and we are excited to work with her.” ~Dana Kimball, Trustee
